Oak Processionary Moth Removal

Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) has been a growing problem for trees across the south of the UK in recent years. OPM was first discovered in the UK in Richmond in 2006. A high incidence of rashes amongst residents led to an investigation by Environmental Health Services.

OPM has been present in Europe for many years, with the earliest mention being found in Roman times. Having arrived in the UK relatively recently, the pest is now spreading across the UK. You can read more about OPM here.

Removing Oak Processionary Moth

To prevent the further spread of Oak Processionary Moth, the caterpillars and nests must be removed by an appropriately trained arborist with the necessary specialist equipment. They will know how to properly dispose of the nests to avoid spreading this dangerous pest.
